15 Non-Toxic Gift Ideas For Baby

Give a gift you feel great about! Here are 15 non-toxic gift ideas for baby this holiday season!

When I first became pregnant in 2016 I started my journey to a more natural way of living but this mainly entailed beauty products that I was using on my own body. Unfortunately we lost that baby at 12 weeks but I thank that baby for helping me realize that the decisions I make today, and every day, will affect not just me but my future unborn children as well.

Did you know that newborn babies are born with over 200 industrial compounds, pollutants, and other chemicals already in their system? When I found this not-so-fun-fact out I knew I needed to be more proactive in my entire life, not just with the beauty products I was using, but in all aspects of my life.

The more I read the more I felt overwhelmed. How could I decrease my own toxic load to help my baby lessen its own bodies burden?

As you may have read in my first post, how to become healthier–and live longer, I briefly touched on the idea of functional living. Lessening toxic burden is one of my many daily processes. It’s decreasing the amount of chemicals in my home, on my body, my sons’ body, and my husbands’ as well. It’s the air we breathe, food we eat, water we drink, the matresses we sleep on–yes, it’s just about everything. Daunting, I know, but we’re not here to freak out and cause an anxiety attack. We’re here to learn to create a safer environment with what we do have more control over.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard, “life is too short to read every ingredient on every product,” or “we’re all going to die sometime.” Sure, it can be very overwhelming at first, even now when I think too much about it I can become super overwhelmed with the amount of things I still need to change, but the important part (to me) is that I am making daily efforts and it is making a difference in our lives–whether we can see it physically or not.

So without further ado, my list of 15 Non-Toxic Gift Ideas For Babies & Toddlers

15. Last on my list is Wiwiurka Pikler Climbing Furniture combo. I balked at the price at first but then when I was really thinking about how much use this thing would get, I figured it’s worth the investment, especially because I plan to have more children and it will hold up to the test of time. How cute is this?! Wiwiurka promotes active/creative play and gross motor development. Perfect for cold and rainy days when you can’t get outside but need your children to burn some energy, or if you live in Arkansas like me, the way too hot and humid days that seem to last most of the year!

Side note: if you’re like me and didn’t start off buying non-toxic baby toys from the get-go, no need to beat yourself up! We do the best with what we know when we know it. I wasn’t aware of toxic products when my first was a baby. I thought BPA free was as good as it got but there are so many amazing products out there that I’m so excited to start buying for him and his little brother due in May!
